An update of sorts

Woah, it's me! I still live!

So although my enrolment isn't confirmed yet, I arrived home yesterday to find the course material for one of the papers. Okay, so I went completely crazy (or had a brilliant moment of sanity) and decided once and for all I was going to do a Graduate Diploma in French. As I've probably mentioned before, I've been doing night classes at the language academy. They're heaps of fun but without people of similar or higher level abilities in the Advanced Class with you, it just doesn't feel worth it. Sure I've won many a game of scrabble (against native speakers I'd like to add :P) and watched some movies and all... But yes, it was either I stop altogether (which I don't really want to do) or I try and get into the GradDip. So, I will be doing this part time while I work full time. Also, I'm doing it with Massey since they have the extramural option which makes things doable. So anyway, obviously the stack of course materials was substantial (being the entire semester worth) and every little bit, including course outline, is in French. I wanted a challenge right? Now to get the $180 (after discount) textbook package. And that's just the first paper.

I have about 5 or 6 films lined up to see at the International Film Festival. Need to remember to book some tickets tomorrow.

It'll be four years on Tuesday... Probably feels like more.

We are (well I pretty much am for now) toying with the idea of kayaking Fiordland this Christmas/New Years, after doing Abel Tasman last year. Unfortunately we were a little spoilt on that one with the entire "fully-catered" deal and the one I can find for Fiordland is not. But that's not really a big deal, right...... (convincing myself) Anyway this would most likely be teamed with a trip around many Central Otago vineyards (with Mum tagging along I'm sure) and drinking far too much Riesling. Ahhh sounds like bliss (albeit drunken bliss).

Oh, and we finally won pub quiz last night. After over a year of attending and a string of 2nds and 3rds (we've tied for first and tied for everything else so many times we just assume there's going to be a tiebreak) but last night we finally hit the big one ($50 bar tab :P).

Finally

So yes I have been beyond slack. But so has everyone else.

But yes - I'm still alive! And slightly distracted as I'm listening to the latest Flight of the Conchords album as I write this.

So since my last post many moons ago, I left my job and moved to another and gained a little more respect in the process. Certainly a vast improvement. Anyway... it's something different.

The update for my game has gone live and I'm trying to pass time as it updates (18% done :( ). I tried downloading the torrent before the update went live but it was going extremely slow so was a bit of a waste of time (and data).

So I caved and got myself the lifetime membership, which I really should have done when I first got it but yes...

Going to see Arj Barker tomorrow at the Comedy Fest :)

Went to Dunners last weekend. As usual, did a bit of drinking

Mmmmmm.................... *drooling* Managed to find this bottle store (that my entire life in Dunners I had assumed was a crappy beer selling store and nothing more) that had lots of very nice wine and they had Chimay. It's a shame we didn't have our Chimay glasses with us (that we may have uhhh stolen from a certain bar).

Have seen a few movies but I can't remember the list... Juno, Lars and the Real Girl, Moliere, No Country for Old Men...

Jocelyn moved up to Aucks... woot! And next month is concert month... well really concert week. Foo Fighters and then STEREOPHONICS!!! Yay! Stoked.

*sigh* 21% complete... What to do?

Update coming...

Honestly!! Once this week and these years finally come to a close I will post something. Right now I wish to keep you all from reading an insane attack on everything (and almost everyone!). A post next week will be pleasant and happy!!

Yeah stuff... and stuff

So I finally gave in to that little voice and I now own one of these babies
16GB of beauty. Okay, I'll move on...

So we went, we saw we conquered. We did our 3 day kayak of Abel Tasman which was wicked. Catered, equipment provided multi-day trips are the way to go my friend. And there was beer... not good beer, but beer

And you know, we had chocolate dipped fruit, omelets, scrambled eggs, chicken curry... The usual "camping" stuff :P

We did get ourselves many a good pint at the Victorian Rose... The best pint of Mac's Sassy Red I have ever had. I'll refrain from posting those pictures - they're on flickr anyway.

And now we're back... And back at work... And all the fun times are gone. I was quite content playing my game for hour after hour. I was ready to never come back.

At least we're off to Wellington soon for a couple of days
